Very very good point from Meredith Farkas: "It's not all about the tech - why 2.0 tech fails".
Important to make sure the blog is shared with others and not on your private email address so if you go (and especially on bad terms... things happen) the professional blog stays. It's quite easy also to invite people to participate (on Blogger go to Customise/Settings/Permissions)
