OULS User Education has been experimenting with podcasting WISER sessions using the equipment in the OUCS Evenlode room but the screen resolution seems less than ideal for database demonstrations although the audio is very clear and powerpoint slides are fine as long as the font size is a reasonable size.
Macromedia Captivate
OULS User Education have also been experimenting with Macromedia Captivate and it has the potential for creating excellent quality short video clips. For longer presentations it can be problematic with large file sizes. Also it does take time to master the sophisticated software. It costs about 100 pounds for the software.
